Committees
Committees help the Flanor board by organizing activities, creating promo material, translating texts, and much more. Their goal is to contribute to the association and have a lot of fun while doing it.
Just as with the board and the reading group leaders, committee members are active Flanorians and without them our association would not be able to flourish.
If you want to join a committee, you can send a message to our Commissioner of Internal affairs (Noah Ritmeester). You can also text them if you don't know which committee you want to join or if you want more information about a committee.
Overview of Flanor's committees
Activity Committee (AcCie): The Activity Committee is fun as your first committee, and for people who have fun ideas for activities that would suit Flanor! Chair: Bram Henstra
Advice Committee (AdviesCie): The Advice Committee is selected yearly by the board and gives well-meaning advice, both prompted and unprompted. Members are usually past board members. Chair: Suzanne Frenk
Archive Committee (ArchiefCie): Literatief issues, posters, administration, photos... Each year Flanor produces great quantities of these kinds of documents and it's always fun to see them when looking back in the Archive. This committee sporadically collects, prepares, and delivers documents to the Groningerarchive. Chair: Merel Jacobs
Lustrumbook Committee (BoeCie): In 2025 Flanor becomes 40 years old! This means that we will need members for the fourtieth birthday of Flanor. In a Lustrumbook you can find things and memories from the last five years. So you will probably find a lot of nostalgia in this committee. Chair: Britt Corporaal
Gala Committee (GalaCie): The Flanorgala happens around the end of every study year. This will sometimes be done in cooperation with another student association and sometimes only with Flanor members. This is a fun committee that can always use new members. This committee will not be hosting a gala in 2025, as this will be done by the Lustrum Committee. Chair: Denise Cramer van den Bogaart
Guest Writer Committee: Traditionally, Flanor provides the university's guest writer committee with a member to join them in their work. Currently Yvonne is part of this committee.
Intro Committee (IntroCie: The Intro Committee organizes a number of activities at the beginning of the academic year to let new members get to know each other and the rest of Flanor more easily. Examples of activities include a pubquiz, or playing games together. Chair: Stijn Laauwen
Audit Committee (KasCie): The Audit Committee is composed annually by the GMA. This committee supervises Flanor’s treasurer and finances. It convenes about once every two months. Chair: -
KEIweek Committee (KeiCie): The KEIweek Committee helps the board with part of the organisation of our KEIweek activities. They also help by being present at these activities. Chair: Luca van der Veldt

Lustrum Committee (LustrumCie): Flanor is celebrating its eighth Lustrum in 2025! Chair: Jessay Beukema
Promotion Committee (PromoCie): The Promotion Committee makes posters and helps with other things to promote Flanor. Chair: Luna van Meurs
Readathon Committee (ReadCie): The Readathon Committee organises a readathon two times a year. A readathon is an event spread over the course of one week. During this event attendees read books of a specific genre, participate in photochallenges, do a bake-off or a movie night. Chair: Nicole Dijkstra
Social Media Committee (SocCie): The Social Media Committee makes sure Flanor stays active on social media. They do this by sharing photos and videos of the activities and with other posts that could be of interest to Flanor members or potential new members. Chair: Denise Cramer van den Bogaart
Translation Committee (VerTaCo): This committee translates texts for Flanor. This is not a very busy committe except for the month before the GMA. Chair: Melanie Vegter
